What We Do

For more than 130 years, Glenwood Academy has filled a critical need within the community: we work to eliminate the impact of trauma and miseducation in children’s lives. We strive to disrupt the status quo and provide trauma informed care, social and emotional learning, and work to end food and housing insecurity.

Our primary focus at Glenwood Academy is to help our students grow and overcome their ACE’s (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and focus on their education. All of our students come to us with a minimum for three to four ACE’s. ACE’s are broken into three categories which include abuse, both physical and mental, neglect, and household dysfunction such as mental illness and substance abuse.

Glenwood Academy provides physical and emotional safety, by providing essential childhood needs; support for the entire family; and instils life and leadership skills to ensure a bright and successful future.
