ACADEMIC PROGRAM
No Student Should Be Left Behind
Students often arrive at our campus at least two grade levels behind their peers due to deep-seated inequity in the resources of their prior schools. Many come from neighborhoods where schools are underfunded and lack the essential resources that foster academic growth. This includes outdated textbooks, limited access to technology, and a shortage of qualified teachers and specialized support staff. As a result, these students have not had the same opportunities as their peers to build a strong educational foundation. Without targeted intervention, this initial gap can widen, preventing them from achieving their full potential.

Closing the Achievement Gap
Our Academic Program provides a key support system through initiatives like our Learning Resource Center (LRC). We offer small group and individualized lessons in subjects like reading, language, math, science, and social studies. Regular testing allows our staff to customize lessons and track growth, helping students overcome learning deficits and get back on track academically.
As a result, our students in the LRC see academic gains of 6 to 12 months in deficient areas within a year of arriving at Glenwood Academy.
