The power of the written word was on full display as three of our very own— Karen, Ameerah, and Jordyn —were named winners of the Patriot Pen Essay Contest. To honor their ability to express their perspectives on leadership, the winners were treated to a celebratory dinner and cash prizes at Aurelio’s Pizza. It is a joy to see Glenwood voices being recognized and celebrated by the wider community.

The dining hall was transformed into a stage for our annual Black History Month Assembly, a vibrant celebration of culture and history. Coordinated by Dean Johnson, the program featured stirring choir performances under the direction of Mr. Allison and a moving solo by Serenity. This event allowed every student a chance to shine and reflect on the legacy of leaders who came before them.

We recently gathered in the chapel for a moving ceremony to welcome 10 new honorees into the National Junior Honor Society. These students were recognized for their commitment to scholarship, service, leadership, and character. We extend a deep thank you to Dean Johnson and Ms. Harvey for their leadership in coordinating this event, and to our house parents and staff who ensure our students have a stable "safe haven" to reach these high standards.

Our 8th-grade class is proving that there are no limits to what they can achieve when they have the right environment to flourish. Recent data shows that in just two terms, these dedicated scholars have achieved an astounding average of 1.8 years of growth in Reading and a full year of growth in Math . This surge in proficiency is a testament to the personalized, small-class instruction that your generosity provides.
